Our bow are mainly laminated wood, which is the best way to produce a reliable material as few natural materials can take the compression forces of the English longbow. We prefer to make our Longbows Full compass, as it spreads the load throughout the bow reducing hand shock, producing a faster bow. Our goal is to build the worlds finest longbows. Using high quality pacific yew wood we craft true English longbows. The trees are hand split to follow the natural grain of the wood and the bow is built from within the split to maintain the natural heartwood and sapwood contrast. Built as similar as possible to the true Yew Longbows of the past. We also create laminate Longbows and flatbows of yew wood with a bamboo backing. Lastly we organize and facilitate bow making workshops where participants are able to build a bow of their choice. Workshops have been run in both Canada and the UK and are very popular. more info >>
